Call for papers

The workshop welcomes PhD students at any stage of their PhD, as well as students that are completing their PhD at the time of the workshop. Both scientific program and themes will be defined in more detail in the next months by the Organizing and Scientific Committee. We will accept contributions on any of the following topics:

  • Innovation in agri-food chains
  • Climate change adaptation in the agri-food and forestry sector
  • Managing disruptions in the agri-food supply chains;
  • Challenges of Artificial intelligence in Agri-food chains
  • Consumer behavior and transition to sustainable responsible diets/consumption
  • Food waste and circular economy
  • Agricultural and food policy
  • Sustainable Agribusiness
  • International agri-food trade and policy
  • Production economics
  • Agriculture and Economic Development

Types of contribution

The committee will consider two types of contributions:

  • Discussion papers: in these sessions participants will be given 15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions and feedback from a discussant.
  • Flash presentation: Is presented as lighting talks and will be allocated 7 minutes for presentation followed by 3 minutes of questions.
  • Please use this template to prepare your abstract and submit in Word file, note that we are NOT using double blind reviews for contributions to this workshop

Abstract submission instructions

To submit your abstract, you first need to sign up to the SGE platform used to manage this event:

  • Fill the mandatory fields (email, password, name, surname and address of your institution) in sign up form https://sge.uevora.pt/users/register and press register; *
  • You will then receive an email asking you to confirm your registration;
  • Confirm your sign up and log in to the platform.

* Make a note of your password as you will need it to register in the event and upload your full paper should your abstract be accepted

Once back in the platform:

  • Select the “11th EAAE Workshop” event and then select the option “Register” (in the event);
  • Select “Add submission“ option to submit your extended abstract (as a Word file), selecting whether you submit a Discussion paper or a Lightning talk contribution;
  • Your submission will then be reviewed by the organizing team.
